Online Therapy for Adults in California
Jess Coleman, PhD | Licensed Psychologist, California [36394]
I am a licensed psychologist providing telehealth therapy to adults throughout California, including Los Angeles, the Bay Area, San Diego, Orange County, Sacramento, and everywhere in between. My practice centers on three areas of specialty care: reproductive and perinatal mental health, OCD and anxiety, and trauma recovery.
I hold an active California license and operate a California professional corporation, which means my work with California clients is fully grounded in California's licensing and practice standards. Wherever you are in the state, we can meet by secure video from your home, office, or anywhere private.

Reproductive & Perinatal Mental Health I provide therapy for pregnancy and postpartum depression, anxiety and OCD, birth trauma, grief after loss, decisions about terminating for medical reasons, fertility stress, adjustment to parenthood, hormonal concerns, and navigating reproductive-related health conditions such as gynecologic and breast cancer. I completed a specialized Residency in Reproductive Psychology at UNC Chapel Hill and hold the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). → Learn more

Trauma Recovery & PTSD Treatment I provide Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy, the gold-standard treatments for PTSD, with specialized expertise in medical trauma and support for survivors of sexual violence, including when past trauma is reactivated by healthcare experiences. → Learn more
Why Online Therapy Works Well for Californians
Many of my California clients come to me because specialized care including ERP for OCD, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, or perinatal-specific treatment can be hard to find nearby, even in major metro areas, and waitlists for specialists are often long. Telehealth means you can access specialty care without commuting across the city at rush hour, cancelling meetings, arranging childcare around an office visit, or settling for a generalist when your concerns call for focused expertise. For new and expecting parents especially, meeting from home (sometimes with a baby on your lap) can make consistent therapy possible.
Fees and Insurance for California Clients
I am an out-of-network practice. 50-minute sessions for California clients are $250. I accept credit cards, HSA, and FSA cards and provide superbills for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Many California PPO plans reimburse a meaningful portion of out-of-network psychotherapy; I'm happy to walk you through how superbills work during a free consultation. → Learn more about fees If you are navigating pregnancy- or postpartum-related leave from work, I also provide clinical documentation to support California SDI and Paid Family Leave claims when clinically appropriate.

No. As long as you are physically located in California at the time of our sessions, we can work together: whether you're in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, or a rural community.
-
We'll spend about 15 minutes talking through what's bringing you to therapy, and I'll share how I would approach our work together. It's also a chance to see whether we feel like a good fit. There's no obligation.
