Referring a Patient to Dr. Jess Coleman, PhD | Reproductive and Perinatal Mental Health Specialist
Often professionals refer to me when they think I might be a good fit for a potential new patient. Additionally, patients may already be well-supported, and providers also refer their patients to me for brief, focused therapy, psychological assessment, group therapy, support groups, or educational courses.
Thank you for thinking of me. I appreciate your trust.
Offerings that medical professionals, mental health professionals, and birth workers can refer to me for
Individual Therapy
For medical professionals and psychiatric medication prescribers who have a full therapy practice and would like to refer to me for individual psychotherapy, or would like me to conduct a psychological assessment with their patient. I often consult with members of my client’s care team.
Support Groups & Group Therapy
For patients navigating perinatal and reproductive mental health concerns. These can be a meaningful complement to individual therapy or medication management — offering community, shared experience, and skill-building in a structured group setting. You can find information about my current group offerings here.
Short-term adjunctive therapy
For patients who are already engaged in psychotherapy or medication management and would benefit from brief, focused therapy. This work centers on medical anxiety and preparing for stressful or invasive procedures and appointments, including: childbirth, pap smears, biopsies, and cancer treatment. If your patient has a procedure or experience on the horizon that is generating significant anxiety, a focused course of work with me may be a meaningful complement to what you are already providing.
Circle of Security Course to Foster Secure Attachment
A structured, evidence-based group course for parents looking to deepen their understanding of attachment and build a more secure relationship with their child. If you have a patient navigating the transition to parenthood, parenting stress, or relational concerns with their child, this may be a meaningful addition to the care they are already receiving.
